Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

When I play a video (experience Ubuntu.ogg for example) in Totem on Gutsy tribe
4 live CD, the output is black by default, but when I move / resize the window
the output returns back to normal for an instance until I stop moving the
window.
When changing the Desktop Effects setting to 'Extra effects' (and ignoring the
'nvidia hardware not available' popup), the video output is better (video
returns as soon as I move / resize the window a bit or switch to fullscreen).
But as soon as the system draws some other item on screen (popup hints,
buttons, menus), the output goes black again or corrupts. See screenshot.

When I set the Desktop Effects setting to 'No effects', the video output
is fine, which makes me suspect the compiz package being the cause of
this problem.

Hardware: Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 (Intel 855GM graphics)

** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
