[Bug 131953] Re: Knetworkmanager not initialize wireless network

2008-10-30 Thread Mac
I'm using 8.10 and used the auto upgrade route to get from 8.04. I did
this via the ethernet port and I cannot get the wireless side of things
to work. Here are a couple of text dumps. My system is an NX7400...

And from the kern.log it talks about the kill switch being on and it
should be turned off?

However, on upgrading to 8.10 at no time has wireless networking been
available on the network connection icon - connection properties doesn't
show a wireless option.

It is in network configuration, but changing those settings doesn't
enable wireless networking.

Regards,
Mac

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?

[Bug 131953] Re: Knetworkmanager not initialize wireless network

2007-08-15 Thread LinuxLover
what ubuntu version are you using? Fiesty / Gutsy?

I have seen this on Gutsy as well. I do a
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
and then KNEtworkmanager initializes correctly. Can you see if this works for
you?
