Ok, I've tried again and I could figure out how to make n-m work. The issue is only half solved. The gnome-main-menu shows theres a cable connection correctly, but when I click on that icon, a window pops-up with wrong information. Hi I've recently tried a daily live cd and I wasn't able to set a static (non-dhcp) ip address with new n-m.
