Nevertheless, I can confirm this bug on Schenker XMG system on 14.04 and 16.04. When I plug the headphones no sound at all. Sound settings GUI detect headphones when they are plugged, and they are not muted. Sounds works as expected in windows 7. So it should be possible to somehow make it work as expected. In the GUI audio settings under the output tab, in the play-sound-through list, there is one device listed: When the headphones are plugged it says Headphones Built-in Audio.
