I am the upstream developer for apt-offline. I never received this bug report, even though I'm shown as subscribed to all apt-offline bugs in Ubuntu. Sigh!

Or did the python folks fix it in between ? This looks like a Python/FreeBSD limitation. But if the issue is not fixed, and annoying, please let me know. We can easily workaround it in apt-offline.
