[Bug 1347913] Re: Turn screen on when phone is moved during a call

2014-09-29 Thread Olga Kemmet
Not necessarily - there are two possible approaches here:
1. The screen never times out while on a call and not close to the ear. It only
dims about 50%. If phone dims wile held to ear, unlocking it will show user the
active call screen.
2. The screen never dims wile on a call via bluetooth device or speaker output
mode is enabled but it does if not any of those connections is detected. Even
if the phone locks (dims), if unlocked returns back to active call screen.

The assumption here is that the speaker ouput mode or a blue tooth evice
is used for the call?

[Bug 1347913] Re: Turn screen on when phone is moved during a call

2014-07-23 Thread Pat McGowan
** Description changed:

This is a breakaway bug from bug 1347001.

During a call, position the phone such that the proximity sensor is not
enabled, i.e. put phone on table. Let the screen shut off after an idle
  timeout.

- The screen should turn on when the phone is moved. This is what Android
- and iOS do anyway, and probably what users expect.
+ The screen should turn on when the phone is moved or screen is touched.
+ This is what Android and iOS do anyway, and probably what users expect.

I'm assuming that powerd is the logical place to have that logic, but
maybe I'm wrong. Please feel free to re-assign.
