I think you missed this part: Now please don't tell me to install a bios update until there's a decent way to install it seamlessly from Ubuntu itself, without relying on freedos, flashrom, creating a windows repair disk and whatnot. If you expect bug victims -pardon- users to install bios updates in order to help you fix bugs, you should provide an easier way to install them. If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
