[Bug 1373005] Re: tulip 4.4 (Ubuntu 14.04) segfault on startup

2015-11-17 Thread Stéphane Guillou
Same here on Ubuntu 14.04-based KXstudio distro. Installed the default
repo tulip version 4.4.0dfsg2-2 and I get a segmentation fault straight
from the start.

There have been 5 releases of Tulip since 4.4.0:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/auber/files/tulip/

Trying the latest (4.8.0) will probably solve the issue, seeing that
comment 51 in the Debian bug report mentions the bug should be fixed in
version 4.5.0dfsg-1: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=723982#51

I can't test the latest version as I don't have the capacity to compile
from source.

Cheers

[Bug 1373005] Re: tulip 4.4 (Ubuntu 14.04) segfault on startup

2014-09-23 Thread Till W.
Debian bug #723982 seems to be exactly the same issue:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=723982

To me it looks like there are some serious bugs in tulip or one of the
loaded libraries that lead to the crash on amd64 systems but work on
i386.
