[Bug 1373473] Re: mount.cifs fails witch actual kernel

2018-01-10 Thread Christian Marinelli
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1372482 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1372482

This morning i have installed an Ubuntu 17.10 on my PC with 4.13.0 kernel and i
had this problem. Then i tried to install the 4.10 version (i downloaded it
from internet) and now the mount.cifs functions work also in the /etc/fstab
file.
Unfortunatly i have to work with a previous kernel version...that's orrible in
my opinion. I hope this bug will be solved soon!

Is this still current? I'm on 14.10 with 3.16.0 and have tried 3.18.6 as
well with the same results.

[Bug 1373473] Re: mount.cifs fails witch actual kernel

2014-09-25 Thread Lars Behrens
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

Mounting a share with mount.cifs fails with
  'mount error(5): Input/output error'

  Mounting through gigolo (smbclient) works

Mounting the same share works with the last kernel 3.13.0-35-generic
I have tried adding sec=ntlm and sec=ntlmv2 to the options, but that does not
help.
