Thank you for posting the prior package. That fixed my problem. This is a temporary workaround, because now aptitude wants to upgrade it. I am a bit confused as to how to run the daily updates while excluding this one. I know that there is a command (I don't remember it now) that tells apt to leave it alone, but that seems it would prevent upgrading to the eventual fix. After using half a screen for 3 days, I figured out how to downgrade: Although I was unable to get xserver-xorg-core_1.3.0.0.dfsg-12ubuntu2 from the repos, I did find the .deb file in /var/cache/apt/archives >From there, I was simply one `sudo dpkg -i xserver-xorg-core_2\:1.3.0.0 .dfsg-12ubuntu2_i386.deb` away from a usable system. Hi Allan, When reporting Xorg bugs, please always attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf, /var/log/Xorg.0.log, and the output from lscpi -vvnn.
