[Bug 138356] Re: Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location.
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 131530 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131530 i installed gnome-vfs-obexftp and libopenobex1 it is working. but this packages should be installed default with gnome-bluetooth services. -- Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 138356] Re: Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location.
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 131530 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131530 Looks like this bug made it into the final release of gutsy. This is unfortunate since I was very impressed about having the new bluetooth utilities by default, it really makes things more seemless. Would be nice to have a more descriptive warning dialog as others have suggested, but it is probably too late for that now. -- Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 131530 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131530 This is still a problem on latest Gutsy, the option to "browse device" does not work as advertised without installing package "gnome-vfs- obexftp". The dependency should be fixed, if the package can't be merged into main the "browse device" option should lead to a message to indicate which package is needed. -- Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 131530 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131530 yes, installing gnome-vfs-obexftp fixes this issue as Aaron says. gnome-vfs-obexftp is a universe package though and bluez-gnome is in main, so maybe bluez-gnome should at least Recommends gnome-vfs-obexftp ? ** Changed in: bluez-gnome (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: gnome-bluetooth => bluez-gnome Importance: Undecided => Medium Status: New => Confirmed ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 131530 'Browse device...' in the bluetooth applet is useless without gnome-vfs-obexftp -- Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 138356] Re: Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location.
It appears gnome-bluetooth needs to depend on gnome-vfs-obexftp. Installing that fixed the initial error. -- Bluetooth fails to connect to phone: "obex://[mac:address]" is not a valid location. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
