[Bug 138508] Re: gnome panels displayed running wine apps and full screen apps with desktop effects enabled.

2015-09-17 Thread Eleni Maria Stea
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. The compiz program
that we currently use in Ubuntu is a C++ re-write of the original compiz
and was announced the 4th July 2010. Therefore, the bugs that were
reported before that date, will be marked as "Won't Fix" as they
probably exist in the original program which is not stored in launchpad.
(The last LTS that used the old compiz is the 10.04 which is not
supported anymore).

[Bug 138508] Re: gnome panels displayed running wine apps and full screen apps with desktop effects enabled.

2012-07-26 Thread Staś Małolepszy
I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but... There's another problem
with Wine and a memory access violation and a workaround for this
problem is to disable ptrace protection with

echo 0 | sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope

I noticed that running this command fixes the menu bar problem as well.
I'm running Precise.

2011-02-05 Thread Opvolger
Complete up2date, 10.10.

Had a on-board intel video-card where opengl was not perfect, so Wine
was not perfect with Windows games.

just put a new video-card (Geforce GT 220) into my system and have now
this problem:

After using ALT-TAB and going back to the game, the gnome-bars are gone.

Probably. Whether or not to add as duplicate I do not know.

Can someone tell what exactly the legacy fullscreen option does? That
might clue us in.

Suffered from this on a clean install of karmic. (with gqview) legacy
fullscreen was _not_ ticked, as travis indicated in #22, and ticking it
made this problem go away. Video is Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated
Graphics Controller (rev 02)

I suffer this bug too. I have Ubuntu Karmic and ATI Radeon Mobility
X1350 (free drivers). When I run a full-screen game through wine and I
have compiz enable, the top panel persists. With only Metacity (without
effects) runs well.

Legacy fullscreen is the default, karmic users don't need to enable it.
As far as I'm aware the only people seeing this bug at this point should
be some ati users. I know it works with intel and nvidia, at least.
