Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

I'm seeing similar symptoms as reported in bug 121439, but for a Sony
Vaio TZ190N, using the iwl4965 module.

I can connect using the nm applet once, and the connection works for a
couple of minutes, then doesn't work any more. I can attempt to
reconnect using the nm applet, but it doesn't actually connect.

I can drop into a shell, do the following, and I get a stable
connection, although the nm applet still says it's disconnected.

killall dhclient ; killall dhclient3 ;  rmmod iwl4965 mac80211 cfg80211
; modprobe iwl4965; modprobe mac80211 ; modprobe cfg80211 ; sleep 1 ;
ifconfig wlan0 up ; sleep 1; iwconfig wlan0 essid THEESSID ; dhclient
wlan0

This is an up to date gutsy 32 bit install, freshly booted up, as of the
date I reported this bug.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux blixa 2.6.22-11-generic #1 SMP Fri Sep 7 05:07:05 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

According to dpkg -l network-manager is 0.6.5-0ubuntu1, linux-generic is
2.6.22.11.12.
