Public bug reported: My touchpad does not appear in the list when i run "cat /proc/bus/input/devices". This is a brand new installation on this notebook, Ubuntu has never been installed or operated before.
An external USB mouse works when it is connected (and is visible with the above terminal command). The touchpad remains dead. The touchpad works in windows 7 (dual boot system). Using the instructions at "https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection", I have attached the ~/dmesg, ~/devices and the /var/log/Xorg.0.log ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "~/dmesg, ~/devices and the /var/log/Xorg.0.log files" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388335/+attachment/4250588/+files/adam.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388335 Title: Touchpad not deteted at all on 'Gigabyte M1405' notebook To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1388335/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
