@Nikil Verma: Nothing that I know of. I switched to a Lenovo M30-70. [Bug 1391657] Re: Unreliable connection with bcm43142 and bcmwl-driver on HP Stream Notebook 14-z010nz
Hello Christopher Thank you for helping. modprobe lib80211 did not solve the problem by the way. Right now, I'm testing the broadcom-sta-source package for vivid 6.30.223.248-2 and it looks promising. Will do some more testing. If this doesn't work either I will go back to bcmwl-kernel-source and provide the information you asked for. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391657 Title: Unreliable connection with bcm43142 and bcmwl-driver on HP Stream Notebook 14-z010nz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1391657/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1391657] Re: Unreliable connection with bcm43142 and bcmwl-driver on HP Stream Notebook 14-z010nz
modprobe lib80211 solved the problem. On trusty and utopic. Will do some more testing and then mark the bug report as Opinion, because I think, lib80211 should be loaded automatically with wl or even better before. I'm sure that's possible somehow and bcmwl could just be installed, without editing /etc/modules. That would be more user friendly. The problem starts with mainstream kernel version 3.15.0 persists at least until 3.17.1. With mainstream kernel version 3.14.24 the connection is still ok (stable). kernel: ERROR @wl_cfg80211_get_station : Wrong Mac address, mac = one mac-address profile =other mac-address correlates with connection loss. The longer recuring syslog message comes up on all tested mainstream kernel versions.
