Binary package hint: network-manager
Waking the computer after sleeping, the network manager icon in the
system tray has disappeared, and the computer will not automatically
connect to any networks. Opening System -> Administration -> Network to
get the Network Settings panel says the wireless network connection is
not configured.
Plugging in a network cable after network manager disappears still works
as expected: an IP address is obtained via DHCP.
- Running ps -A does, show NetworkManagerD.
+ Running ps -A does, show nm-applet and NetworkManagerD.
After restarting network manager always reappears, however a Ctrl-Alt-
Bkspc does not fix the problem.
This occurred on an IBM Thinkpad X31.
Open question: I know that there have been some problems with power
management on Thinkpads, some of which were addressed in an update
yesterday. Could this be related to that?
