For sure this isn't a BIOS issue UX31A.218 01/31/2013 The Fn+f5 and Fn+f6 for decrease and increase brightness work but only from 10 to 9 decreasing and get stuck at 9. Then increasing works from 9 to 10 and gets stuck at 10. Also Fn+f7 works to toggle the backlight on and off. With xev I get for brightness increase and decrease FocusOut event, serial 555, synthetic NO, window 0x3e1, mode NotifyGrab, detail NotifyAncestor FocusOut event, serial 555, synthetic NO, window 0x3e1, mode NotifyUngrab, detail NotifyPointer FocusIn event, serial 555, synthetic NO, window 0x3e1, mode NotifyUngrab, detail NotifyAncestor KeymapNotify event, serial 555, synthetic NO, window 0x0, keys: 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 RRNotify event, serial 555, synthetic NO, window 0x3e1, subtype XRROutputPropertyChangeNotifyEvent output eDP1, property Backlight, timestamp 30495514, state NewValue Previous serial was 553 and next is 557 Is that giving some information where to search for thsi bug?
