[Bug 1404731] Re: [ Dell OptiPlex 7020, Realtek ALC3220, Green Line Out, Rear] Background noise
My workaround to go into pavucontrol and set the Built-in Audio Analogue Stereo to "Headphones (unplugged)" does work, but sometimes I need to switch it into this mode multiple times (via "Speakers") in order to get the proper bass working. The same issue happens when using the command line via "pacmd set-sink-port 1 analog-output-headphones" So, there's something weird happening here when trying to set the mode too, but it does work after a few tries. This is on 14.04 at least. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1404731 Title: [ Dell OptiPlex 7020, Realtek ALC3220, Green Line Out, Rear] Background noise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1404731/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1404731] Re: [ Dell OptiPlex 7020, Realtek ALC3220, Green Line Out, Rear] Background noise
This affects me too. This is on a modern PowerEdge T20 server but it uses the same RealTek audio chip. A workaround is to use one of the two methods: 1) Using pavucontrol, switch the output from "Speakers" to "Headphones (unplugged)". 2) Using alsamixer, increase the "Headphone" volume and disable "Speaker". This bug looks like the same one that's also expired at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1133321 but it does appear to be genuine. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #1133321 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1133321 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1404731 Title: [ Dell OptiPlex 7020, Realtek ALC3220, Green Line Out, Rear] Background noise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1404731/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
