https://bugs.launchpad.net/lubuntu-software- center/+bug/1424362/comments/13 is a workaround that also seems to fix this issue. No, I installed xubuntu-desktop on top of Lubuntu 15.04 having bug #1424362 and #1429531. This XFCE works w/o bugs since PolicyKit Authentication Agent is ticked on by default. When manually ticking off, these bugs also appear with XFCE DE. You installed XFCE after you installed ubuntu? Did you install XFCE before you noticed the bug? Same problem in my 32-bit version. Anything in GUI requiring permission seems not to work (bug #1424362) . E.g.
