[Bug 144398] Re: Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail
The Problem occures in Kubuntu 9.10 again. Other hotkeys like 'internet' are recognized and do what I have configured, e.g. start firefox. -- Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 144398] Re: Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail
We had to hardcode associations in KMilo to get them working at all in KDE 3, Now that KMilo is gone we might use khotkeys (if it ever gets fixed properly) which should make this more dynamic. As for now Kubuntu doesn't associate any keys besides the volume control keys. ** Changed in: kdebase (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 144398] Re: Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail
The multimedia hotkey does appear to be respecting the mail setting (it opens Thunderbird for me), but it opens a new mail window instead of the normal mail reading window, just like the original problem reported for KMail. I'm now using F4 to launch it instead, but given that the same keyboard's multimedia buttons worked fine in Feisty it's a somewhat irritating regression. -- Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 144398] Re: Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail
Same goes for XF86Calculator and SpeedCrunch. Probably some of the mediabuttons to, but they control Amarok as I want it to so that is not a problem for me. -- Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 144398] Re: Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail
I have the same problem. It is "solveable" by sudo mv /usr/bin/kmail /usr/bin/kmail.old and the creating a new /usr/bin/kmail with the desired effect. [Bug 144398] Re: Can not set any hotkey using XF86Mail
It seems to be in /etc/acpi/mailbtn.sh which isn't installed, according to dpkg. Which is weird. Or fun.
