gutsy is no longer supported. [Bug 144730] Re: CAPI/ISDN driver does not work in gutsy
Thanks for your feedback (and being in the same sort of trouble for my probs I had with ISDN and feisty were pretty much left open). Well, at least your workaround works fine. I am, though, totally not sure if that is what we have to put up with, especially since I am not able to establish an ISDN-based internet connection over gnome's network applet. After having installed the packages mentioned above in either, feisty or edgy, I was able to use the device '/dev/isdn'. Using gutsy, however, this device does not even appear. -- CAPI/ISDN driver does not work in gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144730 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 144730] Re: CAPI/ISDN driver does not work in gutsy
To get my AVM Fritz!Card PCI v2.0 running in gutsy, I had to fix linux-restricted-modules as described in Bug #121978 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22/+bug/121978 After having done that, I experienced what you described above. I narrowed it down to the line $DAEMON stop in /etc/init.d/capiutils. After removing this line (I added # to the beginning to make it a comment), gutsy would shut down fine. Still, this is just a workaround since the computer is shutdown without cleanly stopping capiinit. Some more details about gutsy not shutting down when $DAEMON stop is not commented out: The last lines I see on ALT+F7 are: * Stopping ISDN CAPI Cards : FATAL: Module capi is in use.
