Just had this bug running Evolution 2.24.0 in Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid)
Beta, Linux Kernel 2.6.27-7-generic, and GNOME 2.24.0.

No idea what caused it.  I left the PC for a few hours and when I
returned Evolution had crashed.

I had the same problem described. This fixed it.

Copy publish-calendar.glade from /usr/share/evolution/2.12/glade ->
/usr/lib/evolution/2.12/plugins

publishing > add
when i click to "add" evolution crashes and close
i tried to reinstall evolution entirely too, but didn't work
