Fixed, 20070625 working now. I did a check CD for defects and it found one, so I wrote another CD, which works - I'm using it to make this entry. Previously Ubuntu would write on the screen what areas it was checking and pass/defect, now it is dumbed down to just a progress bar and a 1 defect found.
