Merlin, by default undistract-me won't display a notification if the
window in which the long-running command is running is in focus. This
can be overridden by setting the environment variable
IGNORE_WINDOW_CHECK to 1.

Can you check whether this works for you? I.e. test setting the
environment variable, and test without it but with another window in
focus.
