Public bug reported: I have tried installing Kubuntu 15.04 on my laptop containing 4 SSDs which I want to combine using raid 0.
I performed the following steps: - boot from USB - choose try Kubuntu - install mdadm - create raid 0 array - start installation - whole disk, guided partitioning The installation fails with "Executing 'grub-install /dev/sda' failed". I tried the following without luck: - dist-upgrade before installation - using Kubuntu 14.04.02 instead of 15.04 - manual partitioning - using LVM w or w/o encryption - pre-creating swap/ext4 partitions vs. partitioning during installation ** Affects: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: grub installation raid0 ubiquity ** Attachment added: "debug" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1458788/+attachment/4404679/+files/debug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1458788 Title: Installation fails with grub-install error on raid 0 system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1458788/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
