[Bug 146550] Re: [Gutsy Beta] Incorrect default for Canon Pixma MP800
Hi Aaron, I set the but to Incomplete because it was not clear what we needed to do to fix it. Setting to triaged. (btw, I think this bug is fine for tracking this request) Till, can we add this functionality to foomatic or gutenprint? (or file an upstream bug about it?) ** Changed in: gutenprint (Ubuntu) Importance: Low = Medium Status: Incomplete = Triaged -- [Gutsy Beta] Incorrect default for Canon Pixma MP800 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/146550 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 146550] Re: [Gutsy Beta] Incorrect default for Canon Pixma MP800
Thanks for your help, Till (and for all the brilliant work that you have done for printing in Gnu/Linux). At the moment, when I connect to this printer via samba and have to manually specify a driver, I have to know that the correct driver is the Pixma ip4200. It would be excellent if there was some fake entry, labelled Canon Pixma MP800, that linked to the IP4200 behind the scenes. Is this another RFE that I should file separately, or does it come within this bug report? -- [Gutsy Beta] Incorrect default for Canon Pixma MP800 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/146550 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Till, can we make system-config-printer do the right thing here? ** Changed in: system-config-printer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low Assignee: (unassigned) = Till Kamppeter (till-kamppeter) Status: New = Incomplete -- [Gutsy Beta] Incorrect default for Canon Pixma MP800 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/146550 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 146550] Re: [Gutsy Beta] Incorrect default for Canon Pixma MP800
The entry on the OpenPrinting web site was entered via an input form for user contributions and therefore it is not in the Foomatic database (foomatic-db). system-config-printer relies on the locally installed PPDs and PPD generators (the Foomatic database is one of them, another is Gutenprint, see output of lpinfo -m). To fix this problem the printer needs to be added to the Gutenprint PPD generator. ** Changed in: gutenprint (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: system-config-printer = gutenprint -- [Gutsy Beta] Incorrect default for Canon Pixma MP800 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/146550 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
