I am using jaunty. This bug has no sense as j2re1.4-mozilla-plugin does no more exists I tried the package sun-java6-plugin and it works. One problem is that, if it is installed with icedtea6-plugin, java applets won't load in browser (only a gray rectangle no notice). The packages sun-javaX-plugin and icedtea6-plugin should conflict each other. Well this package does no more exists in Intrepid. Going to a simple java applet page. The information bar asked me to install gcjwebplugin that managed to run the simple applet. (http://acestgratuit.free.fr/paysage.htm) But not some others like: http://acestgratuit.free.fr/java/artifice.htm What is the package to install sun java plugin in mozilla? I can confirm it too. Running from the Gutsy livecd on X86_64 I could not get the icedtea- java7-plugin to work (See bug #152362). A manual install of j2re1.4-mozilla-plugin did not work either, but copying the file libjavaplugin_oji.so from /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins solves it and the j2re1.4 works in Firefox on x86_64.
