After several research I found a way to install ubuntu on it. I had to do a vga=352 acpi=off and noapic But I would like these options that I turned off to function later on. I am having the same problems with a similar machine. I read somewhere that I should do it with noacpi mode. I am booting now at the moment with this option and it is also taking so much time. I tried the final release of 710(alternate),it stopped when preparing ubuntu-docs.I tried another time,it seemed cannot load the installation program. It looks like fsck wants to check another partition, but fails to do so. Can you please list the partitions you have on your system and what is on it (i.e. windows or other linux versions). If you know, please add the filesystem (i.e. ntfs, fat, linux) type to the list. Secondly, can you please try to boot in recovery mode? You can select recovery mode from the grub menu. If you didn't see the grub menu, you will need to press escape when grub is started (you should see a message about that). Please report the last messages if this stops. Thanks for your reply.I tried 7.10-rc-alternate today,the first problem was solved,but the second was still a big problem for me. After installation finished and reboot,the system took a long time when loading manual drivers,and the stop when checking file systems I wrote down the output to a paper,it is ass bellow: Loading kernel modules... Loading manual drivers... Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It looks like your problem may consist of two separate problems: 1. The colored blocks during installation 2. The problems after reboot. The first problem was a known problem which was solved shortly after the beta cd's were released. Could you please try the installation with a more recent alternate cd? I think you may want to use the release candidate cd, which is expected this Thursday, but you can also use one of the daily releases. For the second problem, it is not completely certain you completed the installation successfully, so I think it is best to re-test that also with a more recent CD.
