Do you still see this problem on Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2? OK, nope, this happens all the time now in Gutsy, OOo v2.3, clean install, new document. Just set the navigator to appear in Slideshow Options and watch it open, then the presentation come up right on top of it, effectively making the navigator window useless. Ctrl+Shift+F5 does bring it up, but the bars on the top and bottom come up with it. Definitely a bug!
