Thank you, disabling SNA worked – no more crashes in the last three
weeks.

[Bug 1503159] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT

2015-11-16 Thread Nikolas Hermann
This ssems to be a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-
intel/+bug/1510970 (see XorgLogOld.txt).

If so, disabling sna should be a workaround for now:

sudo bash -c 'cat < /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Section "Device"
 Identifier "Card0"
 Driver "Intel"
 Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
EndSection
EOF'

Reboot afterwards.

[Bug 1503159] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT

2015-10-20 Thread Stephan Springer
Yes, the system is definitely unusable. The screen is black for about 30
seconds, and then the login screen appears.

Obviously, all running programs have been stopped, which means a
potential data loss.

Today it happened two times in a row, both times when Shift-clicking on
the “Reply” button at an e-mail in Thunderbird.

In the last three weeks while on Wily I've had this crash five or six
times.

Yes. I have to wait 2 to 30 seconds before i can login again. All
programs are closed (Rhythmbox plays till 1 second before the Login
Screen appears).
