I have made a video of what I think the problem might be or what it might be related to. I have noticed that when the keyboard brightness keys are used to adjust the monitor's brightness gnome-power-manager settings doesnt seem to be aware of them. The Same thing happens to me. I am running a HP Pavilion dv9207us. When I am running AC Power my monitor gets really bright when left idle. It seems to be doing the opposite of what the dim feature does. The Dim display when idle is not checked or AC power.. I have a fresh install of gutsy and this problem just started occuring today. I have had gutsy since the 19th of October and I have not noticed this since today. I am fully uptodate also I have also attached my system information. If there's anyway i can assist in fixing this bug. let me know. Same happens to me with a fresh install of gutsy on a Dell inspiron 9400 / E1705.
