Public bug reported:

When loading Pidgin under Cinnamon, the system tray icon will randomly
either:

1. Not appear (blank space appears where the system tray should be)
2. Appear, but then later corrupt (see screenshot)
3. Appear and stay normal

I haven't been able to replicate reliably, but it tends to most often
happen on first startup after boot.
