Hi Oded,

This appears to be a duplicate report of bug 88746. Please see if the
workaround there makes any difference and report back your results.
Thanks.

[Bug 153730] Re: Ubuntu fails to mount new USB mp3 player as a mass storage device

2007-11-06 Thread R. Clarke
I have what seems to be a similar problem with my HP R707 camera. The
camera works fine in Kubuntu 7.04 but freezes (won't shut off or
otherwise respond) when connected to Kubuntu 7.10. When I run fdisk -l
the camera isn't listed. I ran dmesg after connecting the camera to
both versions of kubuntu, and the only line that is different is the
line [ 167.175363] scsi scan: INQUIRY result too short (5), using 36
in version 7.10. Here are the outputs from dmesg:

I also have a problem with my music player / USB drive. It has never
been able to mount in Gutsy. It mounts fine on Feisty on the same

[Bug 153730] Re: Ubuntu fails to mount new USB mp3 player as a mass storage device

2007-10-17 Thread Oded Arbel
I forgot to mention that the main device node is created (/dev/sdc in
this case), but no devices are created for the partitions. running fdisk
-l /dev/sdc yields:

Disk /dev/sdc: 1024 MB, 1024287232 bytes
32 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1008 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1984 * 512 = 1015808 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x69737369

This doesn't look like a partition table
Probably you selected the wrong device.
