[Bug 155399] Re: tomboy not opening when clicked icon, reports error when run from terminal

I have not been able to reproduce this bug since 8.10. I don't think it
is relevant anymore.

This solved it for me:

Essentially, edit the tomboy menu item and get rid of the --search
argument

I had the same problem as in the previous comment (couldn't find
Mono.Addins). I was able to get Tomboy running again by doing:

export MONO_PATH=/usr/lib/cli/mono-addins-0.2

[Bug 155399] Re: tomboy not opening when clicked icon, reports error when run from terminal

2008-04-30 Thread Paul Barron
I upgraded from Gusty to Hardy 8.04 and tomboy stopped working, on cliking the
icon in the Applications/Accessories menu the timer comes up for a few second
then dissapears. No sign of Tomboy. The upgrade gave no problems with a 64 bit
Ubuntu Gusty to Hardy.
Opening a terminal and typing tomboy results in the following

[Bug 155399] Re: tomboy not opening when clicked icon, reports error when run from terminal

2008-04-28 Thread Josh
I can confirm this buy on Kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron). Tomboy installs
fine but when I click on program nothing happens. If I run it from a
shell by typing tomboy then I get the output that I have pasted below.
If I close the shell window then Tomboy locks up.

However, I have found that if I run tomboy from the run applet then it
starts fine and runs with no errors. Hotkeys work, etc.

Here is the output when I run it from a shell:

[Bug 155399] Re: tomboy not opening when clicked icon, reports error when run from terminal

2008-04-28 Thread Josh
There are two more things I did not mention in my previous post...sorry:

1. This is a fresh install of Hardy Heron, not an upgrade
2. I have tried disabling all plug-ins to see if one of them was causing the
problem

I am at work right now, but later I'll try installing Tomboy on my
laptop since it is also running a clean install of 8.04. If it does work
on my laptop then I'll investigate more and post again.

[Bug 155399] Re: tomboy not opening when clicked icon, reports error when run from terminal, in KDE

2008-03-02 Thread Bismark
Same issue here with Xubuntu Hardy. I can start tomboy from the console,
it does however give the message "Tomboy remote control disabled (DBus
exception): Unable to open the session message bus." Then when I close
the application I receive a seg fault (core dump).

When trying to start it from the menu it never runs. I took a look in
/usr/share/applications and the exec line in the .desktop file is
"tomboy --search". When I try running that from the console it won't
even start, just gives the DBus exception.
