I have purged all sphinx related files (both python 2 & 3). Then reinstalled them. the package was broken, so I force the update of the packages repo -> the installation has gone well. Sphinx is working well so far. Which exactly files in /usr/bin did you change? So far I can *not* understand what is the cause of this bug, but provided that nobody else reported it, I believe it is something wrong on your system. python-sphinxbase is a completely different package, it is the speech recognition system, not the documentation generator. Does this error occur when you purge all sphinx-related packages and install them again? The command exit normally (no error, no output). To switch my sphinx install i just changed the /usr/bin links from python 2.7 to Python 3. All the package are good, but some package are strangely not installed (e.g. python-sphinxbase). Both python-sphinw & python3-sphinx are installed. Can you check if the following command exits normally or prints any errors? python2.7 -c "import ConfigParser" Also, what did you exactly do to port your installation to Python 3? Did you modify any system files or remove any packages? Do you have any broken packages now? Hi Dmitry, I have exactly pass (or at least try to :) ) my sphinx installation from Python 2 to Python 3. My /usr/bin/pycompile is linked to python 2.7 #! /usr/bin/python2.7 (first line) And the return of the command asked is "Python 2.7.10" Have you any way to help me fix the issue ? Did you change any files on your system? Such error may happen if you for example switched shebang of /usr/bin/pycompile to python3. What is the first line of /usr/bin/pycompile?
