Here is the lircd.conf that I developed. @laga: yes, dev/input can be used and the Gyration remotes play well with LIRC if you do that. I created http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Gyration- based_MCE_Remotes and showed how. If support for this remote can be included out of the box it would be great. Currently i got it to work for 7.10, and 8.04 with the instructions below. I wish I new about the fiire although I got two of the gyrations for a hundred bucks.
