Everytime I do that, the whole system freezes: I can see gnome, etc, but mouse and keyboard aren't reacting and the caps-lock-led is on. This is probably a duplicate of bug #157691 I'm running 2.6.24-8-generic on gutsy (built it myself from git) and I'm still seeing this issue. Before I upgraded to the Ubuntu kernel, I was running 2.6.24-rc3 and 2.6.24-rc6 with no problems.
