[Bug 1573866] Re: lxc stop of centos-7 guest hangs
But we've opted out of having it be the default (as was the case with old lxc) as this had the side effect of people then forcing an other normally slow shutdown and for example forcefully kill a database server, leading to data loss... ** Changed in: lxd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573866 Title: lxc stop of centos-7 guest hangs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxd/+bug/1573866/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1573866] Re: lxc stop of centos-7 guest hangs
Marking invalid as it's a known issue of the centos template that someone will hopefully take care of either in Centos (ideal) or push a workaround to the LXC template which will then make it to the images after a few days. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573866 Title: lxc stop of centos-7 guest hangs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxd/+bug/1573866/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1573866] Re: lxc stop of centos-7 guest hangs
There is a --timeout option you can pass which will have stop exit non- zero when that hits.
[Bug 1573866] Re: lxc stop of centos-7 guest hangs
lxc stop --force my-centos *does* stop the centos container. It seems unfortunate to just leave this with "hope a centos update makes it run better in a container"; is there anything to be done if the lxc stop doesn't respond in N seconds? Perhaps print a warning? [Bug 1573866] Re: lxc stop of centos-7 guest hangs
Does "lxc stop --force my-centos" work? If it does, then the problem is likely with centos' systemd not properly re-acting to SIGPWR...
