Wow, a reply on a bug report after 6 years! I did not mean this to be negative, just surprised that I got a response this late. I forgot all about it, but this brings a lot back. Back then, I was mostly wondering what was in the mind of someone to change a user-modifiable config file.. But anyway, the T540 is running 20.04 now, and I dont see that problem anymore; maybe because I dont use a xorg.conf currently. And, the T540 is currently retiring ;-) Anyway, No problem for me anymore. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time. Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end-of-standard-support on April 29, 2021. Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu?
