Thanks for your fast answer. Since this is a visual bug, can you provide a screenshot? ( you could take a photo of your usplash screen with a camera ). Also when you changed the values in /etc/usplash.conf, did you run update-initramfs -u to apply your changes? I have installed a fresh Ubuntu Hardy Alpha 4 and I also have updated all its packages. I also have got Kubuntu Hardy installed since Alpha 3 up to date. In both this issue continues. I think this bug is different of bug #150930, because this is not fixed if I set right resolution in /etc/usplash.conf before running sudo dpkg-reconfigure usplash. Note that I am not reporting difference between X server and usplash resolution, i am reporting that usplash is flattened in LCD panoramic monitors, while the same configuration does not appear flattened in a CRT monitors or non panoramic monitors. I think this is because although I set xres=1440 and yres=900 in usplash, it really uses 1024x768, may be 1440x900 is not yet supported by usplash.
