Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
** Quite similar to : ** Bug #132323, first reported on 2007-08-13 by Ross Peoples ** [gusty] Applications open at the top left corner of the screen while using Compiz Fusion Background : HP Compaq DC5750 01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS482 [Radeon Xpress 200] Previous Kubuntu releases : perfect Gutsy : - detects my Radeon card and sets correctly a 1280x1024 display - the main background image displays fine - the KDM screen displays as a surimposed top-left 640x480 screen (its own background image is scaled accordingly) - the KDE screen follows the same scheme : using only the top-left part of the whole display. Remark : - the mouse can be moved through all the 1280x1024 space - some applications can be moved or expanded outside the KDE screen area (the bottom is always forbidden) - OpenOffice Impress going to fullscreen : uses the full display area, and returns back to the KDE area when leaving fullscreen mode. Tip : I switched to the VESA driver and now everything looks correct (but not so nice). So, nothing urgent for me but quite repulsive to newbees Thanks, Alain ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ATI X display : KDE screen 640x480 in top-left corner of a 1280x1024 screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
