Maven2 is already in Debian and most of the dependencies are in Hardy repository. I vote for this as well. Actually, both Maven 1.0.x and Maven 2.0.x are used quite a lot in Java developments. Also, Maven features the concept of a repository of libraries, and that is quite similar in concept to the Debian repository management.
