The issue started from the time I've installed 16.04. Prior to this I was working with mint 17.3 with only usb3.0 not working (the other two usb2.0 ports worked fine). I've tested against the new kernel but still have the same problem. The new kernel fixed another problem though: the laptop can successfully put in suspend mode (e.g. when lid closed) and it resumes perfect. Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
