[Bug 160726] Random switching between battery/AC mode

2007-12-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy
Kubuntu device database submission ID:
http://hwdb.ubuntu.com/?xml=5630a3b12ef95e9c0df7d4913ed95d0e (When it finally
loads)

When the laptop is running on battery power or the AC (With the battery
attached) the laptop randomly switches between AC and Battery mode (i.e.
screen dimming and CPU frequency reduced).
There is no pattern to the changes between the two modes and it can happen
several times in a few minutes.

When the laptop is switching between the modes the life-timer on the
battery goes totally inaccurate (For example: Reporting 0% charged but
charging even though the battery is fully charged)

The only way to run correctly is on AC with no battery attached. I am using the
default power manager that comes with Kubuntu.
This issue has been reported by other users on MSI laptops with Intel chipsets:
See http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=582673

Laptop mode is not enabled.

Regards,

RurouniJones
