[Bug 1608639] Re: [2.0rc3] SSL verification error when connecting to VMware vCenter

2021-12-21 Thread Ginder Innokentiy
MaaS 3.1 and I have same problem: Maas VMware nodes certificate verify
failed

$ openssl s_client -connect server:443 -showcerts < /dev/null|grep Verify
Verify return code: 0 (ok)

$ sudo grep SSL -m 1 /var/snap/maas/common/log/maas.log
2021-12-21T09:11:31+00:00 maas1 maas.rpc.cluster: [error] Failed to probe and
enlist VMware nodes: [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify
failed: unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:1131)

vCenter 7.0.2

A workaround with protocol='https+unverified' works, but it is not the
best solution

Glad you got it working. In most cases I have seen that even though you
set the certificate as trusted, it still doesn't have a hostname that
matches your server.

Oops, replace "10.230.8.210" in the above example with the IP address
(or hostname) of the VMware system you are trying to connect to.
