The reset also happens spontaneoulsy when the laptop is on and not connected to any network. I was running Gutsy since summer, and had no trouble with the clock. It seemed to change from summer time correctly (CEST to CET), but at some point (last week?) it changed back one hour (saying 8:00 instead of 9:00 etc.). The reset (sometimes) happens when I suspend my laptop. I have also noticed that occasionally when I press the sleep button it refuses and a message pops up saying something similar to policy timeout is not valid, please try again in a little while.
