[Bug 162837] Re: Global environment variables are not global in sudo shell
This is fixed in current hardy's sudo version. http_proxy is passed on every time, and other variables can be kept with "sudo -E". ** Changed in: sudo (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- Global environment variables are not global in sudo shell https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 162837] Re: Global environment variables are not global in sudo shell
Hi, I can confirm this behaviour with Hardy Alpha 4. I've an application that uses java and test for a variable named "JAVA_HOME". Setting it in /etc/profile or manually using a export statement, the variable is not preserved using sudo. With Gutsy all is fine. -- Global environment variables are not global in sudo shell https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
