Ubuntu 18.04.3 (Bionic) includes popularity-contents version 1.66ubuntu1 which uses HTTPS URL by default. grep ^SUBMITURLS= /usr/share/popularity-contest/default.conf SUBMITURLS="https://popcon.ubuntu.com/popcon-submit.cgi; But it fails to submit data because of bug #1822672 in parsing HTTPS URLs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/16632 Title: popcon should offer an option for submission via https To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/popularity-contest/+bug/16632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 16632] Re: popcon should offer an option for submission via https
popcon.ubuntu.com now defaults to HTTPS, with default HTTPS for all GET functions. However, it appears popcon-upload would require a sizable rewrite to support HTTPS, as it currently does TCP communication by hand. Debian bug #880121 is the upstream bug for this, and looks like it is actively being discussed if/how to implement this. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #880121 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=880121 ** Also affects: popularity-contest (Debian) via https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=880121 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/16632 Title: popcon should offer an option for submission via https To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/popularity-contest/+bug/16632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
