During the almost two years since I first reported this problem I've replaced my hardware, so that ATI card is no more with me. Sorry, cannot answer the question. I'm using Dapperdrake with kernel 2.6.15-23-686 with SMP. X Window System Version 7.0.0 ATI Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE] System freezes when dri is enabled in xorg.conf (as described in this bug) It seems like this bug is rv100-specific.
