[Bug 1678537] Re: Induces login loop after updating.

2017-04-03 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel?
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the
latest v4.4 stable kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

** Description changed:

The above the linux (4.4.0-71.92) kernel fails to login after the login
screen, since the screen freezes and cannot proceed further.
Mouse and keyboard freezes. No response even after trying to get into
terminal Alt+Control+F3.

- The system works fine with the kernal 4.4.0-53(both low latency and
- ordinary). My system has xorg amd gpu drivers. I suppose there is
- something closely linked with the driver.
